Cross Campus Library Renovation

Cross Campus Library has been a mainstay for the academic pursuits of Yale undergraduate and graduate students since its opening in 1971. After thirty-five years of continuous service, this popular hub of learning is currently undergoing a comprehensive revitalization. In addition to creating a handsome, light-filled environment, the reconstruction will introduce a new concept in study space specifically designed for the types of learning and research activities typical of today’s students. The new CCL will feature areas for independent study, group study, and interaction with librarians and faculty, as well as flexible gathering spaces where the most up-to-date technology will be available for collaborative study.

We are enormously grateful to Anne T. and Robert M. Bass ’71, who have stepped forward with a generous gift to help fund this major renovation. Inviting other alumni and friends to join them, the Basses have established a $13 million challenge earmarked for CCL’s renewal and will match contributions of $10,000 to $500,000; recognition may be available for gifts of $50,000 or more.
