Course Reserves Information for Students

Materials which instructors have placed on reserve for their courses are available by request at the library's Circulation Desk. Materials placed on electronic reserve are available through the yaleclasses*v2 (the University's course management system) site for the course.

Reserve materials available at the Circulation Desk can be located clicking on Course Reserves in Orbis. Please check with your instructor to confirm the location of electronic reserves in yaleclasses*v2.

Books, pamphlets, DVD's, etc. are put on reserve at the Circulation Desk in call number order. Request reserve materials by giving the call number to the attendant at the Circulation Desk.

Reserve loan periods may be 2 hours, 24 hours, 3 days, or 7 days, as specified by the instructor.

Most reserve materials are on a 2-hour loan period. Two reserve items may be borrowed at a time.

2-hour Reserve books may be charged out for overnight use between 9:00 pm and 10:45 pm Sunday through Thursday and between 3:00 pm and 4:45 pm on Friday and Saturday.

Overnight reserve books are due one hour after the Library opens the next day.

Pamphlet articles and faculty personal materials may not be charged out overnight.

Library fines for overdue reserve books are $3.00 per hour or portion thereof.
