Computing

There are computer workstations located in the Trowbridge Reference Room, in the Library Instruction Room (L-107), near the Circulation Desk, and on the G level near the stacks. All workstations in the library print to the printer on the 2nd floor in the Trowbridge Reference Room (see Printing for more information on printing.) All workstations provide access to Microsoft Office products, e.g. Word.

BibleWorks 8 is available on one workstation in the Trowbridge Reference Room (on the round table, closest to the Reference Desk -- there is a note on the computer indicating that BibleWorks is available), on all of the workstations in L107 (Library Computer Cluster) and in the Marvin Pope Biblical Seminar Room on the G Level.

Logos Bible Software is available on Workstation B in the Trowbridge Reference Room and Workstation D in the Marvin Pope Seminar Room on the G Level.

Below are the details for what is available on specific computer workstations in the library:

Workstation A: Trowbridge Reference Room

The following resources are installed on this workstation and can be launched from the Start menu:

The following resources need to have the CD (available at the Divinity Circulation Desk on reserve) inserted in the CD drive before launching from the Start menu:

Workstation B: Trowbridge Reference Room on the 2nd Floor

This workstation provides access to CD-ROM resources that use the Libronix Digital Library System. Resources include Bible study tools, reference works, images, maps and electronic texts.
Note: Most Libronix resources (except where noted) may be accessed by selecting Libronix Digital Library System from the Start menu, clicking on My Library, and either typing the name of the resource in the Find box or scrolling down the list to the resource.
The following are some of the more notable resources provided:

  • Various versions of the Bible, including:
    • American Standard Version
    • Biblia Sacra Vulgata
    • Good News Bible
    • King James Version
    • Nestle-Aland Greek New Testament
    • New International Version
    • New Living Translation
    • New Revised Standard Version
  • Various Bible concordances and commentaries, including:
    • Matthew Henry's Whole Bible Commentary
    • New Bible Commentary, 21st Century Edition
  • Bible dictionaries, including:
  • Searchable database index for journal articles and monographs: Catalogue de l'École Biblique et Archéologique Française de Jérusalem

  • Electronic texts, including reference works, writings on church management, homiletics, and classic texts. Notable titles include the following:
  • Bible Study Tools, including:
    • Logos Bible Software
      Note: To access, from the Start menu, click Libronix Digital Library System; then either choose the Bible Study Starter option in the left panel, or go to the Home button at the top, click the arrow to the right, and select Logos Bible Software from the dropdown menu.

Workstation C: Just outside Ministry Resource Center on the 1st Floor

This workstation provides access to CD-ROM products that are useful for planning worship and for church adminstration:

Workstation D: Marvin Pope Biblical Seminar Room on the G Level

The following resources are available on this workstation:

  • Resources provided by the Libronix Digital Library System.
    Note: Most Libronix resources (except where noted) may be accessed by clicking the icon on the desktop for Libronix Digital Library System, clicking on My Library, and either typing the name of the resource in the Find box or scrolling down the list to the resource.
    The following are some of the more notable resources offered:

      • Stuttgart Electronic Study Bible
        Note: To access, click the icon on the desktop for Libronix Digital Library System, click on My Library and either type "Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia" in the Find box or scroll down to find the resource listed as Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia.
