Missionary Periodicals Database

The database aims to record all periodicals on foreign missions published in Britain between the eighteenth century and the 1960s by missionary societies and commercial publishers. There are currently over 400 periodicals accessible through the database, with full details of current location, their targeted readership, regional coverage, and main features. The database is still under construction.

Published since 1964, the database comprises almost 400,000 bibliographic entries, covering over 2,000 journals published worldwide. In addition to covering all key English-language historical journals, America: History and Life coverage includes selected historical journals from major countries, state and local history journals, and a targeted selection of hundreds of journals in the social sciences and humanities. Arts and Humanities Citation Index

An international interdisciplinary index to the literature of the arts and humanities, indexing the contents of about 6,100 journals, covering about 1,000 fully and about 5,100 selectively. The Citation Index allows one to find what later articles have cited earlier books or articles.

Elenchus Bibliographicus

Ephemerides Theologicae Lovanienses (ETL), founded in 1924, is a quarterly publication by professors of Theology and Canon Law at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven and the Université catholique de Louvain (Louvain-la-Neuve). Issue 2-3 (September) represents the annual Elenchus Bibliographicus, an extensive bibliography of books and articles that appeared during the preceding year. The bibliography (ca. 15,000 entries) covers the entire field of Theology and Canon Law: History of Theology, History of Religions, Old and New Testament, Fundamental and Dogmatic Theology, Sacramentology and Liturgy, Ascetic and Mystical Theology, Moral and Pastoral Theology, and Canon Law.

Humanities Abstracts Full Text, produced by The H.W. Wilson Company, is a bibliographic database that cites articles from more than 350 English-language periodicals, plus the full text of over 95 of those periodicals. Index Theologicus

The Index theologicus database contains bibliographical references from articles in more than 600 journals, Festschriften and conference volumes. The extensive research possibilities enable theologians and specialists in religious studies to obtain a quick and comprehensive overview of the publications relevant to their own field of research. Ten of the twenty volumes of the conventional “Zeitschrifteninhaltsdienst Theologie” (1985-1994) have now been completely retro-converted into database structures.

Index to Theses ... Accepted for Higher Degrees by the Universities of Great Britain and Ireland

The Index to Theses provides total bibliographic control of all theses ever produced by British and Irish universities (1716 to the present). Access is by author, title, university, degree, year, and keyword. Abstracts are included for titles written since 1970. The Bible in English

This database contains twenty-one different versions of the English Bible. In addition to thirteen complete Bibles, there are five texts that comprise New Testaments only, two that contain just the Gospels, and William Tyndale's translations of the Pentateuch, Jonah and the New Testament. The text of each edition is given in full, including all original introductions, prefaces, appendices, indices, notes and table. Significant figures and illustrations from the Renaissance Bibles have also been included.

JSTOR

JSTOR is a project of The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation for development of a digital library in support of the arts and sciences on the World Wide Web. It will eventually consist of over one hundred journal titles in the areas of anthropology, Asian studies, ecology, economics, education, finance, history, mathematics, philosophy, political science, population studies, and sociology and will already contains over two million journal page images. These journals are fully searchable.

Library of Latin Texts (CLCLT)

CLCLT, a database for Latin texts, including CETEDOC, contains texts from the beginning of Latin literature (Livius Andronicus, 240 BC) through to the texts of the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965). It covers all the works from the classical period, the most important patristic works, a very extensive corpus of Medieval Latin literature as well as works of recentior latinitas including texts from the Reformation and Counter-Reformation. The complete works of writers such as Cicero, Virgil, Augustine, Jerome, Gregory the Great, Anselm of Canterbury, Bernard of Clairvaux and Thomas Kempis can thus be consulted. The texts have been taken from the Corpus Christianorum series and other editions.

New Interpreter's Bible

The New Interpreter's Bible commentary, by more than 100 Protestant, Catholic, and Jewish biblical scholars, includes hundreds of general articles, dozens of maps, and hundreds of tables. Version 6 contains Vols. I-V,VII-IX, XII of the print edition. At the beginning of each commentary section there is set of buttons that link to the biblical text.

Packard Humanities Institute (PHI) Database

The experimental databases from the Packard Humanities Institute (PHI) largely complement the TLG database. The two PHI CD's currently available contain Latin and Bible texts from the Center for the Computer Analysis of Text at the University of Pennsylvania, the Duke Data Bank of Documentary Papyri, and texts in Arabic and Coptic.

Patrologia Latina Database

The Patrologia Latina Database (PLD) is a comprehensive electronic version of the Latin portion of Jacques-Paul Migne's massive Patrologiae Cursus Completus, including notes, glosses and indexes. The Patrologia Latina, though originally published in the 19th century, still represents the only scholarly edition of many works.

Patrologiae Graecae

Patrologiae Graecae contains more than 160 volumes of Greek material (with Latin translations) relevant to the study of the history of the Christian Church from its beginnings through the Council of Florence in 1439. J.-P. Migne, a priest from 1824-1833, moved to Paris and began the work of assembling an enormous body of early texts from 1833 till his death in 1873. His work consists of the The Patrologiae Cursus Completus, Series Graeca (Paris, 1857-1866), 161 volumes (a.k.a PG), and the Patrologiae Cursus Completus, Series Latina (Paris, 1844-1855), 221 volumes

Shakespeare, Editions and Adaptations of

Editions and Adaptations of Shakespeare contains eleven major editions from the First Folio of 1623 to the Cambridge edition of 1863-6, twenty-eight separate contemporary printings of individual plays and poems, selected apocrypha and related works. In addition, it contains more than one hundred adaptations, sequels and burlesques from the seventeenth, eighteenth, and ninteenth centuries, including the whole of Bell's Acting Edition of Shakespeare's Plays (1774).

Stuttgart Electronic Study Bible

Electronic version of the most fundamental documents in Biblical Scholarship – the main texts of the Hebrew and Greek Bible with their critical apparatus. Includes the Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia, Nestle-Aland Novum Testamentum Graeco Editio XXVII, The Septuagint: Morphologically Tagged Edition, and the Biblia Sacra Vulgata. Also includes tools for morphological analysis, searching, parallel viewing of different versions, and several Bible dictionaries.

Theological Dictionary of the New Testament (Unabridged)

Kittel's TDNT treats more than 2,300 theologically significant words, including important prepositions, numbers, and proper names. Each entry discusses a word's secular Greek background, its role in the Old Testament and extrabiblical literature, and its various uses in the New Testament.

Thesaurus Linguae Graecae (TLG)

The Thesaurus Linguae Graecae (TLG) database is the work-in-progress of an ambitious project housed at the University of California, Irvine. The TLG aims to produce a data bank of all ancient Greek authors and texts extant from the period between Homer and 600 C.E., including New Testament authors. TLG contains nearly 2,900 authors and more than 8,000 individual pieces of extant writing in Greek. The current release is virtually complete through 200 C.E.
