2. Statistical Yearbooks

Published annually since 1978, CHIFFA accumulates annually all basic and statistical information about the PRC. In English. Most information is on the national level. Each volume contains all new data.

Zhongguo tong ji nian jian (中国统计年鉴, China Statistical Yearbook)

A statistical yearbook on national-level social economic indicators. It has provincial-level data.

Many other national or provincial statistical yearbooks are available. Check Orbis (they usually have "tong ji nian jian" in their titles) or consult a librarian for details.

3. Cumulative Statistics

Has social/economic/demographic data at national and provincial levels.

In addition, for data on Chinese women, use Zhongguo fu nu tong ji zi liao (1949-1989) and Zhongguo xing bie tong ji zi liao (1990-1995)
