East Asian Resources in Other Yale Libraries
Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library (Address: 121 Wall St.)
Beinecke Library has the Yale Association of Japan's (YAJ) Collection (including manuscripts, prints, and illustrations), the Japanese manuscript collection, Chinese rare books (most are Ming imprints), and the Tibetan collection.
Divinity School Library (Address: 409 Prospect St.)
Divinity School Library, one of the largest collections of missions-related materials in the world, contains an extensive collection related to China, such as the China Records Project collection. In addition, the library has made available online the China Christian Colleges and Universities Image Database.
Economic Growth Center Collection, Social Sciences Library and Information Services (Address: 140 Prospect St.)
The Economic Growth Center Collection collects economic surveys, statistical publications, development plans and censuses from East Asia.
Library Shelving Facility (LSF)
Sometimes users find in Orbis that a book is located in LSF. LSF stands for the off-campus Library Shelving Facility. There is no circulation desk at LSF and readers cannot go to LSF and pick up books on their own. To get a book from LSF, please request staff search and delivery in Orbis.
Medical Historical Library (Address: 333 Cedar Street)
Medical Historical Library has some materials related to traditional medicine in East Asia. The papers of Peter Parker, an American medical missionary to China, are also housed there.
In addition, the Council on East Asian Studies maintains a list of East Asian Film and Video Resources at Yale. It includes hundreds of VHSs and DVDs held at the Council, PIER, and the Film Study Center.
