The Asahi Shimbun AJW is the English-language digital version of The Asahi Shimbun, Japan's leading daily newspaper. Its editorial policy is to offer in-depth coverage of China, the Korean Peninsula and the rest of Asia, in addition to extensive coverage of Japanese politics, business and society. AJW articles contain many visual elements. Most of the articles are translations of stories that appear in the Japanese language Asahi Shimbun and its affiliated publications with added background information for non-Japanese readers to understand the context.
