Chinese Electronic Resources Clinic
Michael Meng -- Librarian for Chinese Studies
Time and Place: 4:00 PM, Room 207, Sterling Memorial Library
Electronic resources have become increasingly more important for conducting research in Chinese studies. However, there have been so many new ones available during the past several years. While some of them have specific restrictions on web browser or user number, some would require inputting log-in information or installing viewing software. The session intends to help the researchers to have a better experience in getting access to the Chinese databases.
In addition to offering a quick survey of the electronic resources currently subscribed by the Yale Library, the session will be focusing more on several newly acquired and on-trial databases such as Erudition (中國基本古籍庫、申報、中國方志庫), Airiti Library and others. Participants are welcomed to discuss their research needs on Chinese e-resources, so the library can plan ahead for using limited acquisition funds in the future. Participants are also encouraged to bring their own laptops to the session.
We hope to see many of you there!
