manages the lifecycle of major interdisciplinary
e-journal packages
coordinates collecting and activating e-journals
and databases
leads the development & support of the Electronic
Resource Managment tool (Verde)
manages the knowledgebase of the OpenURL reslover
and Journals A-Z tool (SFX)
coordinates various activities related to the gathering
and processing of usage statistics for the Library's
e-resources
participates in reviewing and negotiating licenses
for e-resources
participates in troubleshooting problem reports
liases with relevant related groups, including staff
of the Integrated Libraries and Technology Services
department, various acquisitions departments, the
catalog department, and relevant standing committees

Sphere of activities:
project management for Project AMEEL (Arabic and
Middle Eastern Electronic Library) and Iraq ReCollection,
an NEH granted effort to digitize Iraqi academic journals
project and technical support for OARE (Open Access to Resources on the Environment)
design and development of open source software for
new electronic collections
grant writing
supervision of staff members and student workers for special digital projects
administration of databases, servers, and data loads
for OACIS union catalog and new digital repositories
maintenance of Linux servers
expert user of the department
