Hadith 9 books. (Cairo, Egypt: Sakhr Software, 1995): Hadith are the sayings and deeds of the prophet Muhammad (SAW). This software package includes nine Hadith books of the most famous "roviy"s (collectors of Hadith) like Al-Buhariy, Muslim, Qurtubiy, Abu Dovud, Ahmad Hanbal, Ibn Mojja, and others. It also provides information about the processes of Hadith collection, the biographies of Hadith collectors, and the methods they use to check the Hadith. The software uses full multimedia capabilities and provides recitations of Qur'anic ayas when included in the Hadith.
The Haldeman Diaries (Santa Monica, CA: Sony, 1994): This multimedia CD-ROM places the reader inside the Nixon White House via the diaries of H.R. Haldeman, the President's chief of staff. The diaries, kept from the beginning of Nixon's first term to Watergate and the administration's collapse, are supplemented with photographs, filmclips, biographical notes, and the president's calendar. These diary entries give a vivid picture not only of Nixon's political life, but also of the tumultuous cultural history of the late sixties and early seventies.

Heine, Heinrich: Zeit, Leben, Werk (Stuttgart: Heureka-Klett, J.B. Metzler, SDR, 1997): Contains the text of Heinrich Heine's collected works based on the 1910 edition of Oskar Walzel, which is keyword-searchable. Also includes portions of Gerhard Hohn's Heine-Handbuch for description and commentary, and a multi-media biographical essay, bibliographical references, the Heine reception, a time line, and a concluding pedagogical section for use with classroom instruction. Over 400 images and 100 sound clips, as well as video clips and hyperlinks.
HISPANAM: Bibliografía, en CD-ROM, sobre lengua española en españa y en hispanoamérica, y sobre literatura española e hispanoamericana (Cordoba: Alfaro y Asociados, S.A. de C.V., 1994): A rather large archive, spanning the years 1937-1992, that contains more than 170,000 bibliographic references to books and articles on the Spanish language, Spanish literature, and Latin American literature. It also cross-references reviews of works found. The search engine is adequate, although somewhat unintuitive. An additional obstacle is that the works found in the database may be written in Spanish, English, German, French, and possibly other languages, so a user attempting to find works in more than one language may have to repeat a search using the target language (there does not seem to be any cross-referencing across languages.) The default language to operate the database is Spanish, although the menus can be changed to English. Help sheet available.
