Di Farshvundene Velt (The Vanished World)

Photos of Eastern European Jewish life between the two world-wars. In addition to those of Roman Vishniac, many of the photos in this collection were taken by the Polish-Yiddish writer and ethnographer, Alter Kacyzne, who perished in the Holocaust.
