Newspapers
To access current, full-text Latin American Newspapers,
use the ProQuest database
Latin American Newsstand (see description below). The paper version of
a small number Latin American newspaper titles received by the library are located in the
Newspaper Room on the first floor of the Sterling Memorial Library. The Latin American section
of the Newspaper Room is located on the right side of the room under the heading "Latin America."
The Latin American Collection also has a considerable number of Latin American newspapers on
microfilm. These are housed in the Microtext Room, located in the basement floor of SML.
ProQuest
Latin American Newsstand provides full-text information in Spanish and Portuguese from
41 newspapers from Latin America and Puerto Rico. The complete articles are available in ASCII
format. Key newspaper titles include Reforma and El Universal (Mexico); O Globo and Folha de
São Paulo (Brazil); EL Comercio (Peru); La nación (Argentina); El Mercurio (Chile);
El Nacional (Venezuela) and Portafolio (Colombia).
