Date:July 24, 2006, 10:30 a.m.

Present: Bobbie Pilette, Kevin Glick, Audrey Novak, Rebekah Irwin, E.C. Schroeder

This was a taking stock meeting.

Audrey announced that the negotiations are moving forward with VTLS with regards to the VITAL installation. The idea is to use this as the institutional repository with FEDORA providing the framework for what will eventually become the digital preservation repository.

The PREMIS Task force is making good progress and expects to have a report sometime the beginning of August.

Kevin is on the Preservation Working Group for FEDORA Development. That group will be meeting at Yale August 10.The question then was raised how involved does DPC want to be with this group.Audrey suggested that we should become very active and will talk with Meg about this.In the meantime Kevin will bring us up to speed at our next meeting on what they have done thus far. After we have that information, we can discuss what type & level of involvement.

It was suggested that during the month of August we go to a twice-weekly meeting in an effort to get some momentum. Most committee members are here the entire month.Meetings will be scheduled for Monday and Thursday.

Each team will continue to work on their respective tasks posting via email documents for comments by the committee as a whole.††
