Present: Bobbie Pilette, Kevin Glick, E.C. Schroeder, Rebekah Irwin, David Gewirtz

Absent: Audrey Novak, Gretchen Gano

The decision was to hold off on the Use Cases until next week when more of the committee will be present. So we took care of some basic business.

Bobbie will be going to the September 29^th, NELINET seminar: Stayin’ Alive. E.C. & Rebekah said there would be some folks from Beinecke also going.

Kevin mentioned the article that Meg sent around: Requirements for Digital Preservation Systems: A Bottom-Up Approach <http://www.arxiv.org/abs/cs.DL/0509018> Looking at section 3, Threats, Kevin thought it might be interesting to discuss our Use Cases in terms of the threats listed. Measuring whether we thought our particular Use Case was of greater or lesser concern in relation to each of the threats listed.

A reminder that the SCOPA forum is this Friday at 12:30 in the Sterling Lecture Hall. Below is our outline for the presentation. Keep in mind we have one hour, so each presentation should be brief—between 5-10minutes max.

Reminder that we have a policy presentation will be at CDC this week, Thursday, Sept 15 at 3p.m., Sterling Room 409. All DPC members welcome.

Next two meetings (Sept 19&26) will be at the Beinecke.

ü Send copies of Ann Okerson’s comments regarding the policy. We will discuss next week.

ü Committee members will take “Use Case” categories—seeing what are the issues associated with each and what we need to consider.
