Project 03 : Electronic Reserves Prototype
Topics to be considered/discussed in the final report.
Items to be considered or discussed in the final report for the ereserves prototoype, in no particular order:
- Encoding level / access required to edit Course Reserve records in the Cataloging module.
- Improve step-by-step documentation for the entire process.
- Training of staff who may be asked questions about copyright - reply should begin with 'I am not providing legal advice...'
- How many staff would it take to expand the service? What level?
- How many queries are we getting now asking us to expand?
- What will copyright cost the second time around?
- Sakailibrary tool - how will it fit in? Can we encourage self-service additions of article available electronically already by faculty? When can we prototype?
- How will we determine how many students are in each course for copyright? Can we get a view into Banner?
- When considering money spent at RIS for digitization - remember costs for the library would not only include the costs of the staff doing the digitization but the managerial time spent as well
