List of Current and Future Activities (February 2007)
Classics Department Digital Collection: DPIP is providing project management, technical infrastructure, metadata recommendations and quality assurance services for the digitization of the Classics Department Slide Collection (35,000 35mm slides and 10,000 lantern slides). These images will be available in the Classics Department Insight and DL collections beginning in Summer 2006.
Hellenic Studies Byzantine Collection conversion: DPIP is providing project management and metadata services for the cataloging of 6,000 images. These images will be available in the VRC Insight and DL collections in Summer 2006.
Yale Daily News Digitization Project: DPIP and the Preservation Department are working in close partnership to accomplish the digitization of a portion of the Yale Daily News back file (13,000 out of a total of 160,000 pages). DPIP staff are assisting with RFP preparation, vendor evaluation, project management, and repository development. Preservation will serve as primary contact with vendors and DPIP will provide technical advice, manage the implementation of a public interface to the collection, and conduct usability studies.
Library E-reserves Prototype: DPIP is providing project management and research services for the Library's prototype e-reserves project, implemented beginning in Fall 2006.
