DPIP Production
and Content Integration Working Group
Minutes from 11/8 meeting.
§
We went around the table, each
person discussing their top 3 (or 6) needs, issues, concerns, or problems their
unit faces in regards to digitization. Rather than listing them please look at the
attached spreadsheet which simply lists what was said at the meeting.
§
Members of the core group (Karen,
Katie, Jen, Fred) will put these into a categorized list before asking for
input on priorities.
We briefly discussed how these could be categorized, but agreed that this would
require some examination of all the issues raised. The second attachment is
the list categorized and cross-tabbed.
§
Faculty input: we decided that we need a subgroup to deal
with getting input from Faculty on what they need from the library in terms of
digitization. We asked for volunteers. This subgroup will meet separately and
includes: Katie, Tracy, Martha, Rebekah, Tobin, George and Jen. We also discussed the survey done by David
Green as part of the Academic Commons project. Will this make any input we get redundant? The Faculty Study subgroup will keep this in
mind
§
Educational workshop: Fred discussed the fact that Steve Puglia is
willing to come in January for 2 days and bring a co-worker. January 9-10 seems okor possibly January
17-18. January 16th is MLK day. Fred will pursue this with Steve P.
We will meet
again Tuesday, 11/29 at which time we will discuss further input we've received
from other units and prioritizing our list. If you have any thoughts
about the categorized list, let me know.
