Must be willing to repeat steps when using computers as part of instruction modality. Must also go slower, slower mouse movements, etc. especially for older adults
Avoid showing and telling attendees what steps to do from your own computer, while at the same time reminding them to look at page 3 of the handout and expecting them to be able to do the task on their own computer all at the same time.
Be sure attendees have clear view of boards - write large and high enough on the board for the person in the back to see clearly
Move around - don’t remain static at the workstation. Eye contact is reassuring
Make sure the projection of the instructor’s station includes a resolution setting of 800x600 or even 640x480
Do not use Red or Green markers or other light colors when using a whiteboard. These are difficult to read clearly, especially from a distance. Stick with Black and Blue.
