2. SELECTING A CLARINEWS GROUP IN PINE
Your search will bring up a subset of groups. Use your arrow keys to move
from group to group, and the spacebar and minus (-) keys to page down and up
in the list. You can also search for a word to find groups related to the subject
you are interested in. For example, if you are interested in ClariNews groups
related to history, type
W ("whereis") to search and then type in the string history. This will search
the names of groups for the word "history."
Groups that have the word "web"
in the name contain the same stories as those without "web," except in html
formatting, which makes them difficult to read in Pine. In other words, clari.living.history
is the same as the group clari.web.living.history. The duplication of stories
within some of the lists accounts for the discrepancy between the number of
stories in the respective groups.
