This tutorial provides a quick introduction to the essential features of Orbis -- the principal online public access catalog (OPAC) for the Yale University Library. What is Orbis? Orbis is the online library catalog. It provides information about the Library's collections. Included are records for books, serials (journals, magazines, newspapers), electronic resources, government documents, and other research materials. What library materials are not in Orbis? There are several categories of resources that are not in Orbis. These include: the resources in the Lillian Goldman Law Library, which has a separate catalog called Morris. records for specific articles within serials various special collections that have individual catalogs some manuscripts and archival collections More detailed information about Orbis is available from the Orbis Help Guide. Library staff are available to provide additional help in using Orbis.
