- The RLG Union Catalog (RLIN) and WorldCat are online "union
catalogs"; that is, bibliographic databases containing millions of records
of books and other materials held in thousands of academic, public, and special
libraries throughout the United States and national libraries around the world
- Contain catalog records for books, maps, sound recordings, musical scores,
films, archives, and computer files
- Eliminate the need to search the online catalogs of individual libraries
- Potentially provide access to works that Yale may own but which still only
appear in the card catalog
- Assist in locating works not held by Yale but available through interlibrary
loan
- All search results may be easily printed, downloaded or e-mailed directly to
you
