Advanced searching in Eureka
  • Combine two words or phrases within keyword, author, title or subject fields using Boolean terms
    • Example: author (berlin, isaiah) and title word (liberty)
  • Boolean terms are
    • AND (where both terms are present)
    • OR (where either term is present)
    • AND NOT (exclude second term)
  • Use Author Word, Title Word, or Subject Word to find distinct words in these fields
    • Example: subject word (fencing) and subject word (Spain)
  • Use Codes such as ISBN, ISSN, or LCCN and include punctuation
    • Example: 0-95248482-x
  • Use Form and Genre to look for specific types of materials
    • Example: playbills, sermons, albums
