The Information Technology Office (ITO)
is responsible for many of the major systems that support fundamental library activities, such as Orbis, the LSF, Databases and Article Searching (MetaLib), and Online Journals and Newspapers (SFX).The ITO is also leading the Library's development of a digital preservation repository.
ITO itself is divided into two teams:
Integrated Access Initiatives (IAI), an R&D team; and
Production Systems (PST), a support team for primary systems.
The ITO and the AM&T Library System Group (LSG) within ITS share management to form a virtual department.
The LSG provides technology support, system administration and consultative services for the Library. This group is responsible for over 50 servers that support critical applications such as Orbis, MetaLib, SFX, and the Frontdoor, as well as collection repositories in from numerous library departments and development environments.
