SML Exhibit
"Blacks in the Arts: An Unearthed Sanctuary
of Black Achievement, Courage, Strength and Pride" is currently on display
in the corridor exhibit cases of Sterling Memorial Library. In celebration
of Black History Month, the exhibit honors the contributions and achievements
of Blacks in the fields of Dance, Music, Literature, Art and Architecture,
and Film and Theatre. The items in the exhibit were taken from a diverse
array of libraries and special collections within the Yale University Library
community, including, the Arts Library, the Arts of the Book Collection,
the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library, Cross Campus Library, the
Divinity Library, Drama Library, Music Library, Sterling Memorial Library,
and also the Yale Film Study Center. The exhibit, organized by Yale University
Librarian in Residence, Nicole Becks, will remain on display through April
2000. |
