1) Effective and efficient administration of comprehensive Human Resources functions. Recruitment Re-engineer Student Employment Introduced JobX software, an on-line student hiring system. Sharon had talked about the key features of the software during July/August Student Employment Forums.  Efficient,professional and paperless approach to student recruitment. We moved to this new system effective December 2004
Training to be completed 1/2005
Reassignment of employment recruitment to HR Coordinator Complete by May 2005
Compensation & Classification Evaluation of all Grade A Jobs Completed 10/2004
Evaluation of all Grade D & E Jobs Completed by January 2005
Managerial Compensation/University Compensation Committee initiative Completed 12/2004
Revise all Job Descriptions Consult with department heads & supervisors in the design of positions; evaluate, analyze, & classify staff positions
2) Create and promote a continuous learning environment in which all staff develops their skills and potential. Supervisor Training Training on Hire process Ongoing
Training on new Student Hire process Training for hiring supervisors commenced Nov.17 with a total of 3 training sessions for 2004. An additional session is scheduled in January with on-going training to accommodate supervisors with Summer and Fall Requisitions.

Creating a Learning Environment & Staff Training Learning Plan Database In final stages of development; training scheduled for LHR/Business staff in Jan 05.
Staff Training/ Organization Development Committee Committee added 4 new members Sept '04; sponsors Lyte Byte sessions, updating STOD website (live 1st qtr '05) and the electronic Staff Resource Library
Creating Electronic Training Tutorials Christensen Roberts, Instructional Design Firm, to deliver presentation re: instructionsl design software product Jan/Feb  '05. Learning Center representatives interested; additional interested stakeholders along with training practitioners will be invited to attend.
Training Practitioner Survey Completed Nov. '04 w/ a 50% response rate; data used to identify which staff members were training on what topics and suppoprt/develop this group of library trainers; the group will be brought together again in the 1st qtr '05
Training Practitioner Toolkit Final stages of development; site will be a resource for library trainers re: instructional design, training policies/procedures etc.; will be unveiled as soon as the Learning Center completes the testing of the Central Authentication System on the Course Registration site; 1st qtr '05 (using the registration system is part of the policy).
Learning Plan Library-wide participation stands at approximately 75% (C&T 68% ;M&P 84%); looking to achieve 80% participation this year; funds for this program still available; the program is now a part of the "development" section of the Performance Appraisal process; S. Slaughter will modify the support web site as wll as the the training sessions to reflect this; no other major changes at this point.
Serving International Customers Planning for pilot training program w/ SSL staff underway; Phone consult w/ Jane Touhy/Cambridgehill Partners 12/9/04; training to take place in spring '05.
Performance Appraisal Training Planning underway for staff training in support of the Performance Appraisal system (K.Reynolds & Paul Crotty); training in 1st qtr '05.

Leadership Development Training Pathways I & II for managerial staff
Cross Training Initiative Committee  2 program designs are now being melded into one; will conduct departmental survey re: cross training as a "best practice" in departments late 1st qtr '05; design to be shopped to various library groups spring '05 for feedback; possible implementation fall' 05; group process working very well.
3) Develop a flexible and agile workforce  Increasing open two-way communication Library Links Continues to be an effective means of communicating with the Library staff at large. 
"Survey Monkey" staff feedback Committee submitted "Survey Monkey" Implementation plan to Danuta and David (SQIC). PIC is reviewing questions for a Front Door Survey for Dec. 2004 and hope to use this group as testers
Communications Committee HPO Scan of all Staff completed in January 2005
Email Etiquette Update website completed and announced to library 11/4; article to appear in Workin@Yale Dec./Jan '05 issue.
Committee Database Database for library employees to register ther interest in serving on committees. This was announced Oct 26, 2004
Providing opportunities for recognition and promotion Managerial Promotion Committee Completed 12/2004
Yale Recognition Committee Goal of this committee is to develop a multi-tiered program to reward and recognize the members of the Yale community for jobs well done, thank employees for their hard work and dedication and demonstrate commitment to the University values
