2001 Yale Student Hiring
Student Hiring was very successful
this year! We received many applications over the summer after placing
an ad in the Freshman Issue of the Yale Daily News. Brochures and fliers
were then posted in many locations throughout the campus. I attended the
Freshman, Graduate and International Orientation, which produced many
applications. The salary was then approved by President Levin and we found
ourselves swarming with students.
We also had a great turn out
from the two September Job Fairs. I want to thank all of the supervisors
and staff who were a part of making this year successful in Student Hiring.
If you still need
to hire a student please send a requisition to the site is listed below.
If you have rehired a student from the summer or last spring please send
in a rehire PAF so the student can receive his or her salary increase. If
you have any questions contact Jessica Linicus at Library Human Resources
jessica.linicus@yale.edu or call at ext. 21810.

Administrative
Support Leadership Program (ASLP)
WHO ARE WE?
We carry different titles and wear different hats, but we are all members of
the Administrative Support Staff at Yale University. The ASLP committee is a
group of administrative support staff members that recognizes the benefit of
peer-to-peer education. Each member offers knowledge of different skill sets
that we would like to share. The peer-to-peer learning opportunities come in
the form of brief workshops called "Quick Hits." The "Quick Hits"
are designed to reinforce, complement and enhance existing training. They are
60 to 90 minutes in length and FREE of charge!!

How
to Have a Productive Meeting
Many of us serve on various committees and attend numerous meetings. Often,
it may feel as if our meetings are not as productive as we would like
or the participants are not as engaged (or engaging) as we had hoped.
If you feel you need to tune up your committee meeting skills (or just
need a reminder), including how to participate more effectively and can't
wait until the next workshop available, by logging into the
Professional Mentor.
