The Yale University Library is pleased to continue
the Librarian-in-Residence Program to increase professional representation
on the staff of its libraries and to further the growth and development of
librarians within the profession.
Interested candidates are invited to
apply to serve a two-year post-graduate appointment in the library system beginning.
The program offers recent library school graduates the opportunity to learn about
academic libraries, to work in a culturally diverse environment, and to gain substantial
experience in a particular department or school library. The specific assignment
will, whenever possible, reflect the Librarian-in-Residence's interests and aspirations
as well as the library's need to support program innovation. In addition, the
Librarian-in-Residence will also participate in administrative assignments, library
committees, specialized training, professional activities and receive travel support.
The Librarian-in- Residence will be eligible for available continuing positions
in the Yale University Library.
