Audio/Visual (A/V) Equipment in the SML Lecture Hall
The available Audio/Visual (A/V) Equipment in the SML Lecture Hall currently consists
of:
· Laptop with wireless Internet capabilities
· LCD Projector
· Remote Control for Power Point
· Permanent Microphone fixed to the podium
· Wireless lapel microphone
· VCR
· DVD Player
· Carousel Slide Projector
· Overhead Projector
· Power Strip for all equipment housed in media cart
If an individual or department wish to use the A/V equipment, please take note
of the following:
· Library Administrative Services (LAS) will no longer be responsible
for setting up A/V equipment in the Lecture Hall. It is now the responsibility
of the Expert Users assigned to each department to set up and restore the A/V
equipment prior to each event requiring equipment use.
· The laptop is now permanently connected to the LCD projector on a
new media cart. The laptop itself is located inside the cart (rear storage door),
which is locked at all times. If you need to access it, the key must be signed
out from the LAS office. The projector sits on a height-adjustable shelf to
maximize full use of the screen. It shouldn't be necessary to remove anything
from the cart.
· The laptop and projector are connected by a 25' cable, allowing the
laptop to be placed on the podium if desired. If the laptop is moved for any
reason, please ensure that it is placed back inside the locked cart at the end
of the presentation and the key returned to the LAS office.
· If you need the remote for the laptop to enable slides to be changed
from the podium, it may be signed out from the LAS office.
· The VCR and DVD player are also locked inside the media cart (front
storage door). These are to be connected directly to the LCD Projector, eliminating
the need for the TV. Each device is equipped with the proper cables for connection
and they should not need to be moved in order to use.
· Due to relatively little use, the carousel slide projector and overhead
projector continue to be housed on a separate cart in the front corner of the
Lecture Hall. These may be placed on the media cart by moving the LCD projector
to a lower shelf. As with the other equipment, please return these when you
are finished.
· If you have no use for any equipment and the cart is in your way (it
will normally remain in the center of the aisle), please feel free to unplug
it and to move it to the side. However, please move it back into the center
again when your meeting is finished so it will be ready for the next person.
· If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact michael.colavolpe@yale.edu
or maryetta.russell@yale.edu.
Thank you for helping us to keep the Lecture Hall equipment in the best of shape!
