S.M.A.R.T Goals
Sample Goal:
All Library staff (100%), excluding casuals and students, will attend all
required just-in-time training in order to understand and complete the Performance
Appraisal process during FY’05-’06.
All staff (100%) will set SMART goals, identify specific job behaviors
or competencies for development, assess progress on achieving goals at check-in
meetings, and conduct a final assessment of goal achievement during the final
annual performance appraisal period.
How the Results will be measured:
Employee attendance at training for (1) goal setting, (2) preparing for
and conducting the check-in meeting (giving and receiving feedback), (3) preparing
for and conducting the final performance appraisal meeting (giving and receiving
feedback); supervisory compliance in holding a minimum of 3 meetings with each
supervisee (goal setting, check-in, final performance appraisal) before February
28, 2006.
