Communications Tree - Yale University Library
- From time to time,
due to emergencies or other occurrences, there will be a need to activate the
communication tree within Sterling Memorial Library or for the entire library
system. Library Human Resources will maintain this list.
- Facilities emergencies may include electrical outages, computer problems,
floods, etc. For these matters this communication tree will be activated by
the Manager of Building Operations and Security, John Vincenti. John will
notify the affected department head and AUL. The department head will notify
other necessary staff immediately.
- For
emergencies that affect all or multiple departments of SML or the entire library
system, John, Fred or individual department head should notify the University
Librarian. Department heads should maintain a roster of staff in their unit as
well as a procedure that ensures that staff are notified. A designee should be
assigned if the Department head cannot be reached.
- For communication
about strikes, job actions or other labor matters during negotiations, Diane Turner
will activate the tree. The University and Associate University Librarians will
be notified. They will notify department heads in their units. Each Department
Head will notify other necessary staff in his/her unit immediately.
