Manuscripts and Archives holds over 1800 collections of personal and family papers and organizational records, which span geography and chronology over a broad range of subject areas.  It also preserves and provides access to the archives of Yale University.

Manuscripts and Archives is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 A.M. to 4:45 P.M. and remains open until 6:45 P.M. on some Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings during the semester. The department is also open on selected Sunday afternoons from 1:30 until 4:30 during the academic term. For a complete listing of each day’s hours consult the library website. In planning your research visit, please be aware that we do not provide reference service between 12:00 noon and 1:00 P.M., after 4:45 P.M., or on Sundays.
