Meeting
convened at 2:30 p.m.
Suzanne provided 2
cakes from Julia’s Bakery in Orange, CT. These were the two top
choices for desserts to be served at the New Staff Reception. There was
a Chocolate mousse cake and a Napoleon cake. It was decided that in light
of the positive reaction from all those present as well as remembering
how fast it went in the last reception that 2 full sheet cakes of the
Napoleon will be ordered from Julia’s. Another cake will be ordered
as well. Probably the mousse cake, but not so high. (It was four layers)
A brief discussion was held about providing two Napoleon cakes and double
fudge brownies instead of 3 cakes. That was discouraged.
The New Staff Reception
will be held in SSS hall on the 4th floor. A menu has been decided on.
Yale Catering is providing the food. There will be chicken satay with
peanut sauce, pork potstickers, cheese and fruit plates, assorted tea
sandwiches and canapés.
Kelly Shand asked
about the budget for the holiday party as well as a venue. She will call
around for places this week. Luce Hall and Woolsey were prominent mentions
as to venues. A meeting was set up with Diane Turner to discuss the holiday
budget.
The next meeting will
be on Thursday October 7, 2004 at 2 with a place to be determined. Watch
your e-mail from either Diana Q. or Ruth C. as to the final place.
