NEW
STAFF RECEPTION:
Overall the comments about the New Staff Reception were good. People liked
having it in the Aurelian Room. One concern is that a special face to
face cleaning request for the side room (405B) must be made otherwise
it will not get done. Diana commented on the fact that 2-4 pm is a perfect
time to have it. The
only concern was that there was too much food this time. The next reception
will be in the Lecture Hall of SML and the consensus is that will not
be a problem.
COMMITTEE
FAIR:
The fair will be on Tuesday June 14, 2005 from 1-3pm. The official place
is the Selin Courtyard and the rain place is in the Lecture Hall.
Kathleen
Burns will put together a pamphlet about what we do and what we expect
from members for the table. We will need volunteers to help set up, staff
and break down our area.
Bernadette and Kathleen volunteered to staff the table from 1-1:30. We
will be taking it in half an hour shifts. Cesar Zapata and Kevin Glick
will be available on that day and Kelly Shand is fairly sure she will
be as well.
The total budget is $500.00 for the fair.
DIAPER
DRIVE:
It
was reluctantly decided that we would not be able to have a diaper drive
with the limited time left in the fiscal year. The committee will try
for sometime next year.
The suggestion was made that it might be an easy organizational task for
a new member perhaps at the end of the summer.
NEW
MEMBERS:
An
e-mail will go out soliciting for new members the end of this week. Kathleen
Burns made the suggestion that we mention the L-CID database where people
can fill out their interests and that might help get members as well.
The
deadline for response will be June 1, 2005 and we can see how many people
have responded for the pool. And if needed try again.
OTHER
BUSINESS: Diana Quinones brought up the idea of bringing our children
to work. It had been suggested before, but there were liability issues
that could not be worked around. Bernadette said she would ask again about
this idea.
NEXT
MEETING: In room 410 in SML at 2pm on Thursday June 2, 2005.
