Meeting convened at 2:00 p.m.
HOLIDAY PARTY:
It was agreed that there will not be a "Kids' Corner" for several reasons, including possible liability issues. There will be a Santa Claus as Joe Sicignano volunteered to fulfill this role this year. It was agreed that Polaroid pictures would be taken with Santa for anyone interested. Ruth will contact Debbie McGraw in the Business Office regarding purchasing the film from Corporate Express. It was also agreed that Santa would give out toys and mini candy canes to the children. Ruth will pick up the candy canes and the toys are left over from the Staff Field Day.
HOLIDAY RAFFLE:
Mike handed out additional raffle tickets and accepted some raffle prizes. As of Thursday, December 1st, he had 44 prizes already in-hand, some from staff members. He had inquiries from outlying libraries that do not have a representative from LiSA on how they may purchase raffle tickets (for example, Medical, Divinity, and Social Science Libraries). David volunteered to be the LiSA representative for the Social Science Library and perhaps the Science Libraries in the event no one else volunteers. Some members are finding it difficult to get donations from merchants, possibly due to heavy soliciting by non-profit organization this season.
FOOD DRIVE FOR CT FOOD BANK:
Aubrey, Pam, and/or Susan will contact the CT Food Bank regarding a pick up date and YUL Shipping Department regarding pick up from outlying libraries. The drive will begin Wednesday, December 7th Ruth will send them last year's posters/signs. Of highest need is low fat, low sugar, and low salt foods.
Meeting ended at 2:30 PM.
Next Meeting: December 8, 2005 from 2-3 in Machine City.
