January 12, 2006
Beinecke Library, Rm 15

Members present: Ruth Carruth, Lolly Lee, Aubrey Novak, Mike Rush, Maryetta Russell, David McMahon, Bernadette Cioffi, Cesar Zapata, Susan Tucker, Kevin Glick, Patrick Butler.

Members Absent: Tara Kennedy, Pamela Clifford.

Meeting convened at 2:00 PM.

INTERNATIONAL PARTY :
The party will be held on Friday, February 10, 2006. There was discussion concerning what role(s) LiSA is asked to fill. Primary roles discussed were for set up, clean up, and bringing food. Lolly volunteered to bring Chinese Dumplings and Bernadette volunteered to bring something Italian. More information will come at a later date.

HOLIDAY PARTY :
Overall, it was a successful party - the band was a big hit! The topics that were brought up concerning this year's party.

BOOK DRIVE FOR COLUMBUS HOUSE :
Lolly and David volunteered to chair this event. Lolly will contact Allison at Columbus House to find out what type(s) of books are needed and for whom will the books benefit. There are books left over from the United Way book drive that did not fit the scope of that drive available for donation.

FOOD DRIVE FOR CT FOOD BANK:
Susan received a thank you letter from the Connecticut Food Bank letting us know that we collected 370 lbs of food. She will contact Connecticut Food Bank to find out how many people did the food collected feed. Aubrey will send out a thank you e-mail to the Library mailing list.

FIELD DAY:
Mike reserved College Woods for the Staff Field Day for the whole day. It is to be held on July 22 nd from 12-4 (?). He will check with Alice regarding use of her pool for an hour and checking into hiring a lifeguard.

NEW STAFF RECEPTION:
Scheduled for Monday, April 24 th from 3-5 in the Lecture Hall. Additional information to come at a later date.

NOOKS & CRANNIES TOUR:
Brief discussion on the upcoming tours. It was suggested that the more popular tours are repeated in the Fall. Another suggestion was to include smaller departmental libraries (such as the Classics and Drama libraries) and library departments (such as the Preservation Department). There have been requests for a "life of a book" tour.
