January 11, 2007

MEMBERS PRESENT: David McMahon, Maryetta Russell, Mike Rush, Susan Tucker, Pam Clifford, Gareth Gibson.
MEMBERS ABSENT: Kathryn James, Melissa Vantine, Sarah Burge, Tara Kennedy, Pina Laursen, Andrew Gray, Paula Zyats.
Meeting convened at 2:04 PM.
NEW STAFF RECEPTION:
The target date is end of April but the definite date will be set based on the AUL attendance and availability. Gareth volunteered to chair the event, he will work with Paula to book the location (Aurelian Rm.) and food and beverages. David said he was to speak with Vinny about the flower arrangements.
SPRING FOOD DRIVE:
- Each library will receive 2 or 3 baskets for food donations.
- Maryetta will be point person for contact between the various donation locations.
- Program will start March 5th and run through March 30th
- Collection sweep will be done April 1st or 2nd based on the collection date set by CT food bank.
- Paula will send out the Yulib message to create public awareness of the event.
- Donation baskets to be placed near entrances and exit of various locations.
- Checks or money orders to be made out to CT Food Bank directly, no cash will be accepted.
INTERNATIONAL PARTY:
- LiSA is now an official sponsor for the International Party.
- Mike will create a webpage for the event for the LiSA web site.
- The event will take place Friday Feb.23rd
- LiSA will assist with set up and clean up
NOOKS & CRANNIES TOURS:
A report of the last tour was given (Newbury Organ ,Gareth ) and the group discussed ideas for the next couple of tours. A sign up sheet was reviewed and will be needing more assignments. Mike mentioned he was going to organize a few tours including the SML Music library, Gareth mentioned he was going to schedule another Organ tour as well as work with Tara to schedule a tour of the SML Preservation Dept. Some new ideas for tours were the Yale Power Plant and a CCL construction tour.
The meeting was adjourned at 2:50 pm.
