Meeting convened at 2:10 p.m. by Soli Johnson.

MEMBERS PRESENT:
Andrew Gray, Soli Johnson, Rebecca Hamilton, Kathy Eow, Gennifer Baker, Clayton McGahee, and Abdul Hannawi

OPEN POSITIONS:
Soli asked for volunteers for the Treasurer and Secretary positions. Rebecca nominated herself to assume the Treasurer responsibilities, while no one volunteered to become Secretary. Soli suggested that for the time being, the Secretary position will be appointed from meeting to meeting.

ICE CREAM SOCIAL:
Rebecca has ordered the ice cream from Ashley’s. Gennifer said that she will bring in coolers, and Gennifer and Kathy will take care of the ice. The ice cream social will also include a clown and bluegrass music. It was mentioned that the ice cream should be under the shade during the afternoon, and the possibility is still open to rent a cooler from Ashley’s.

BOOK DRIVE:
Andrew will get the next Book Drive underway in September, the specific time to be determined.

NEW STAFF RECEPTION:
Andrew said that the New Staff Reception for the fall will be scheduled sometime in early November. It will be held in Sterling Lecture Hall as usual.

NOOKS & CRANNIES:
Soli asked if everyone had access to the Wiki. She also reiterated the goal of having two tours a month. Upcoming tours will be at the Sustainable Food Project, Divinity Library, and The Crypt – Center Church on the Green.

MEETING TIME AND PLACE:
The next meeting will take place on August 28th in SML, Room 409.
