Meeting convened at 2:00-2:30 p.m. by Soli Johnson

Members Present:

Soli Johnson, Gennifer Baker, Katherine Eow, Abdul Hannawi, Madhu Luthra, Patricia Simon, Andrew Gray

International Party Wrap-up:

• Soli reported that she heard many of positive remarks regarding the International Party: It was a hit, well organized, lots of fun! The food was excellent and abundant. The money raised from the raffle tickets to help the Public Library in Kigali, Rwanda amounted to $1704, almost as much as the amount raised at the last Holiday Party.
• Madhu suggested that for the future it is better to have the party in one hall only, e.g. the Nave, so that the guests can see each other and listen to the music in one place. The members agreed that it is a good idea. As for the time, i.e. Friday, it seems it is the best because the Library closes at 5:00 pm so that there will be no users at the Library after 5:00 pm.

Blood Drive:

Although Clayton did not attend the meeting to report on the Blood Drive event which he will do at our next meeting, Soli reported that despite the storm and bad weather on the day of the blood drive many volunteers showed up to donate blood.

Nooks and Crannies Tours:

• Geniffer reported that she will be organizing another tour to the Police Station and a tour to Yale Leitner Family Observatory & Planetarium on Prospect Street.
• Kathy will organize a tour to the Law Library.
• Soli will organize a tour to the Marsh Gardens and another tour to West Campus.
• Soli encouraged LiSA members to look at our Wiki and gave the address of the schedule of the past and upcoming tours.

LiSA at the Library Orientation for New Employees on March 19, 2009:

• Soli will attend the meeting on behalf of LiSA to speak briefly about LiSA’s function and activities to the new employees.
• Soli will also send an email to yulibl to encourage the Library employees to join LiSA in June.
