On November 19th, 2001 construction began on the remaining
five modules planned for the LSF. Two modules will house library materials,
while three will temporarily be used by the Art Gallery. The final
set of modules will be referenced as #1- #6. In this new numbering
scheme, the currently utilized module will be #1, the next two occupied
by the Library will be #2&3.
What follows is a pictorial history of the construction
in progress, with most recent views first.
As with module # 1, a Harris Environmental unit has been installed
in the mezzanine. This unit will filter the air and maintain a constant
50 degrees F temperature and 30% relative humidity
in modules # 2 & 3. (August 20, 2002)

To increase protection from fire, two MFL (Maximum Foreseeable Loss)
walls will be built. These are rated to withstand a major fire for
three hours before collapsing, whereby a second wall continues to
provide protection to materials shelved inside. Here, forms for the
