Ribbon Cutting Celebration - December 3, 2002

On Tuesday, December 3, Yale's Art Gallery and Yale University Library hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of construction of the Library Shelving Facility modules in Hamden. Guests were invited to attend this special event to recognize the completion of all five additional modules that were originally designed for the LSF expansion. The Yale Art Gallery temporarily will occupy three of these modules.

What follows is a pictorial history of the ribbon cutting ceremony and celebration.

Louisa Cunningham, Deputy Director, Yale Art Gallery begins the ceremony by acknowledging collaborative efforts to complete the LSF facility. President Levin and Jock Reynolds, Director, Yale Art Gallery join the event.

Alice Prochaska, University Librarian is thankful for the completion of the facility on this, the fourth anniversary of the opening of LSF.


President Richard Levin highlights the significance of this innovative space in the renovation of campus facilities in support of the Arts and the Library.
