Routine E-resource Record loads/ Pre-processing programs / Contact

Productions Systems works in conjunction with Catalog Management in receiving and coordinating MARC record load requests.

All MARC record load requests must be reviewed by both Production Systems and Catalog Management before being added to the record load queue.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Load MARC authority record loads generated from authority control processing for E-resource and microform records.

• Maintain statistics on MARC record processing and loading activity, quality control.

• Report to MARC record stakeholders on record load status, errors, and exceptions in production Orbis.

• Debug MARC record problems, coordinate with Catalog Management in the planning and development of new procedures for MARC record requests, processing and loading.

• Perform Orbis SYSADMIN updates to facilitate E-resource and microform record loads.

• Maintain MARC record web pages and documentation.

• Test MARC record loads and share results with MARC record stakeholders.

• Receive and process approved MARC records from Catalog Management.

• Receive and process MARC records processed for Authority Control (MARS).
