Exporting Images and Metadata

Download a single image

Both Insight and the Digital Library application allow you to download single images by right clicking on the
image and saving it to your local workstation.

Downloading multiple images

Insight

Option 1: First save images into a group and then create a Presentation for the group. After you have a Presentation created you can:

Export to Powerpoint

Click - File / Export presentation to Powerpoint
Select an image size and drive location. The Presentation will be exported to Powerpoint.
Note: Image metadata will be available via the 'Notes' section of each page.

Export to HTML

Click - File / Export presentation to HTML
Select an image size and drive location. The Images are downloaded and a .html document created.
Note: Image Metadata is not downloaded.
Be careful with image size selection as if images are too large they will not fit onto a browser screen.

Option 2: Images are saved into a group.

Export to HTML

Click Print / Export as HTML
Select a display format
Images will be downloaded, with brief metadata and an html page will be created.
Note: Links to browser Insight to display larger image formats do not work.

Digital Library

Save a Group and link to it via a URL

Create a slideshow from a group and download the slideshow to your local machine

Both these options download the images to your local workstation.

The Beinecke DL application has a new prototype tool that allows you to batch export images in a group as well as their associated metadata in a tab-delimited text file.
