Note: Installing Insight on a Macintosh is a two-step process.
1: Download and Install the Insight client on your computer:
Insight 5.5 for the Mac is certified to run on: Mac OS X 10.2 and above only
Download Luna Insight 5.5 for Mac OS X 10.2 and above(located here).
How to Install Insight:
When you click the above link, the Luna Installer will automatically decompress onto the desktop. Double
click on the installInsight icon the installer created on your desktop. Click next several times to accept the defaults. Accepting the defaults will:
2: Install the insight.dat file on your computer:
Important: After the installation is complete, you must replace the installed insight.dat file with one configured for Yale's installation of Insight.
Click on the link below and the Insight.dat file will open as a text file in your web browser. Click on File, Save As. Click on the Blue Down Arrow to expand the Save As Screen, then click on "Macintosh HD." Select Applications. Then navigate to Luna Imaging and then Insight 5.5.
Click Save. Click Save. If you are using Mac OS X 10.3,first select Don't Append. Next, when prompted in the dialog box, choose Replace.
Click here to access the insight.dat file.
Insight has now been installed and configured on your Mac. Double-click the Luna Insight 5.5 icon on your desktop to launch Insight.
Troubleshooting: If Insight starts but your login and password combination do not work - most likely the insight.dat file has not been saved to the correct folder. Make sure you save the insight.dat file to the folder that contains the Insight software.
Use of Insight is limited to the Yale campus - if you are off campus, you must use Yale PPP or the Yale VPN to access Insight.
