| Senior Essay Prizes
At last week's commencement, Manuscripts and Archives honored two graduating seniors.
Mary Ellen Leuver, of Jonathan Edwards College, won a $500.00 prize for an outstanding essay on Yale for her essay "Defying Death, Disease, & Darkness: Yale, New Haven, and the Institutionalization of Public Health in America, 1880-1930."
The second award of $500.00 was for an outstanding essay based on research done in Manuscripts and Archives. This went to Julia Gegenheimer, of Timothy Dwight College, for her essay "Between Rhetoric and Reality: The Effects of Ideological Transition in the 1970s-1980s on the Status of Women in the Sudan."
We congratulate both of these graduates and wish them well in their future endeavors.
