Hale in fact and fiction
Three double biographies have paired Hale with Major John André, the British officer who dealt with Benedict Arnold for the surrender of West Point. There are many Hale biographies for young readers, some factual, others interlacing fact and fiction. The definitive Documentary Life of Nathan Hale was published privately by George Dudley Seymour in 1941. Recently Bradley Shy '02 wrote a perceptive paper on Hale for an undergraduate seminar on biography.
