Yale's library stressed Latin, Greek and Divinity
This 1755 catalog was the latest update for the Yale library when the Nathan and Enoch Hale were students. Among some 3,000 books it listed just one on the English language (a grammar) and more than 75 on or in Latin and Greek. One-third of the total collection was listed under "Divinity."
