The Yale Picture Collection, with over a half million images, documents most aspects of life at Yale. This photograph from the collection shows former President Harry Truman and his secretary of state, Dean Gooderham Acheson, in the Timothy Dwight College courtyard on the occasion of Truman's visit as a Chubb Fellow in April, 1958. Acheson was a graduate of Yale College (1915) and a member of the Yale Corporation. The Dean Gooderham Acheson Papers consisting of his personal correspondence and other files are in Manuscripts and Archives, but his papers documenting his term as secretary of state are in the Harry S. Truman Presidential Library.
