INFORMATION FOR YALE OFFICES :: RECORDS SCHEDULES
In an effort to preserve
and maintain its history, Yale University seeks to retain certain documentation
concerning student organizations at Yale. Specific topics of interest
include:
- History and development of Yale student organizations;
- Missions and policies of student organizations;
- Significant programs, activities, and events of student organizations;
- Positions and actions of student governments and councils;
- Organized student activism; and
- Student involvement in service activities.
Archival records
(Permanent records should be transferred to the Archives.
Please arrange timing and frequency of records transfer with Archives
staff.)
- Annual reports of student organizations
- Correspondence of student organizations that documents programs, activities, and events
- Constitutions and bylaws of student organizations
- Meeting minutes
and supporting documentation from student organizations or concerning
student organizations
- Membership rosters of student organizations
- Photographs,
clippings, press releases, and scrapbooks documenting the activities
of student organizations
- Publications from student organizations (2 copies)
- Topical files and correspondence of the Yale College Dean of Student Affairs

Office of record
Student organizations, the Office of Student
Affairs, Yale College Dean's Office, and the Graduate and Professional
Student Center maintain the record copy of documentation concerning
student organizations. Individual units that are not responsible
for the creation of such records, but that maintain duplicates of
such works or related materials, should destroy these files after
they are no longer needed. |
