INFORMATION FOR YALE OFFICES :: RECORDS SCHEDULES
In an
effort to preserve and maintain its history, Yale University seeks to
retain documentation concerning the performing arts at Yale. Specific
topics of interest include:
- The
existence of significant performances, concerts, and productions at
Yale;
- The
conceptualization, design, planning, and artistic direction of performances,
concerts, and productions at Yale;
- Collaboration
among students, faculty, and outside professionals in performances,
concerts, and productions at Yale;
- Responses
to and evaluations of Yale performances, concerts, and productions;
and
- Creative
innovations and the extended influence of performances, concerts,
and productions at Yale.
Archival
records
(Permanent records should be transferred
to the Archives. Please arrange timing and frequency of records
transfer with Archives staff.)
- Audio or visual recordings of performances, concerts, and productions at Yale
- Clippings about performances, concerts, and productions at Yale
- Final
and definitive design and production specifications, including set,
costume, and prop designs for performances, concerts, and productions
at Yale
- Licensing and copyright records, when Yale owns rights to a play or music
- Meeting
minutes, correspondence, and vision statements that document the conceptualization,
design, and planning processes
- Photographs and slides of performances, concerts, and productions at Yale
- Press releases about performances, concerts, and productions at Yale
- Programs,
brochures, or posters from performances, concerts, and productions at
Yale (2 copies)
- Script
or sheet music that documents how a performance, concert, or production
was staged or interpreted at Yale
- Subject
or performance files of deans of the Yale School of Drama and the Yale
School of Music, and the managing director of the Yale School of Drama

Office of record
Staff throughout the School of Drama, the School of Music, the Yale
Dramatic Association, the Institute for Sacred Music, the Yale Symphony
Orchestra, and Yale's bands hold the record copies of documentation
about performance at the university. In addition, student dramatic
organizations may also hold record copies of documentation. Individual
offices that are not responsible for the creation of such records,
but that maintain duplicates of such works or related materials, should
destroy these files after they are no longer needed. |
