INFORMATION FOR YALE OFFICES :: RECORDS SCHEDULES
In an effort to preserve
and maintain its history, Yale University seeks to retain certain documentation
concerning labor relations. Specific topics of interest include:
- Bargaining between unions and the university;
- Arbitrations between Yale and the unions;
- Policies and procedures for interactions between Yale and the unions; and
- Development of
unions at Yale, including Local 34, Local 35, the Yale Police Benevolent Association (YPBA),
and the Graduate Employees and Students Organization (GESO).
Archival records
(Permanent records should be transferred to the Archives.
Please arrange timing and frequency of records transfer with Archives
staff.)
- Annual reports of the Labor Relations department
- Arbitration summaries
- Final reports of negotiations
- General studies and analyses of labor at Yale
- Meeting minutes and supporting materials regarding labor relations at Yale
- Negotiation minutes and supporting materials
- Publications, press releases, and other public statements concerning labor relations
- Subject files
of the director of labor relations, the vice president of administration,
the provost, and the graduate school dean
- Union contracts and agreements

Office of record
The Labor Relations department, the provost,
and the graduate school dean maintain the record copy of documentation
about labor relations at Yale. Individual units that are not responsible for the creation
of such records, but that maintain duplicates of such works or related
materials, should destroy these files after they are no longer needed. |
